DESIGNER • ARTS EDUCATOR • DIRECTOR

Petr William is a Midwest-born-and-raised multi-hyphenate theatre artist. In January 2025 he received the KCACTF Region 3 Excellence in Design Award in both lighting and media design. He moved on to the National KCACTF Festival where he was awarded two National Awards: Second Place in Lighting Design and Third Place in Media Design. He was also awarded a Lighting Design Fellowship at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center in Waterford, CT.

As a disabled artist, Petr has worked hard to shape rehearsal rooms that uplift disabled and neurodivergent artists. Petr is committed to the hard work of building bridges and communities that advocate for safe and equitable practices in the theatre. Petr has engaged in workshops and training through Theatrical Intimacy Education, post-secondary coursework in disability training for educators, and personal studies to help support this work.

When Petr is not hard at work in the theatre, he enjoys cooking, hiking, museums, conservatories, and hosting get-togethers. Petr also has a 4-year-old long-hair cat named Joshua.
